Rare, not precious.
A sopranist countertenor is unusual. The experience should still feel immediate, generous and human.
The House · The Artist
Aria Amore creates intimate, story-driven classical experiences under the artistic direction of sopranist countertenor Xavier Williams.

Xavier Williams · Founder & Artistic Director
Xavier Williams is a sopranist countertenor whose voice inhabits the brilliant upper register of the male voice with power, precision and unmistakable warmth.
Based in Charleston, South Carolina, Xavier performs across sacred music, American art song, spirituals, Baroque repertoire and curated crossover work. The instrument may be unusual; the goal is not. Every performance begins with the human question underneath the music: what does this room need to feel?
Why Aria Amore exists
Aria Amore is not built around volume. It is built around attention.
A wedding processional, a funeral hymn, a Christmas carol and a recital by Florence Price ask entirely different things of the singer. The house exists to meet each of those moments with the same standard of musical preparation and a different emotional vocabulary.
Black composers and American art song are central to the artistic identity of the house. So is sacred music. So is the belief that classical performance can be refined without becoming remote.
A sopranist countertenor is unusual. The experience should still feel immediate, generous and human.
Black composers, American art song, spirituals and sacred music are not side categories. They are part of the spine of Aria Amore.
Each engagement is shaped around the occasion, the room and the people who will actually be listening.
